Property Captain
Property Captain is a public analytics and smart-matching platform for real estate, backed by one of Switzerland's largest investment company.
In real-time, we were aggregating extensive amount of information on buildings and properties, including property evaluations, noise levels, neighborhood features, and 3D models of building and terrain. With various ratings displayed on an interactive map, the platform needed to present complex information in a simple, intuitive way.
Challenges
Real-time aggregating of various data from over 200 sources, processing and embedding data and 3D building models into interactive map.
Figuring out how to score the multitude of factors that go into purchasing a home (location, amenities, surrounding, etc) while making the information easy to digest.
What we did to succeed
To tackle the challenges in the Property Captain project, crawler team developed a robust framework for collecting and parsing data from over 200 different sources. This system allowed us to gather a wide range of property-related information in real-time, ensuring that every dataset was accurate and up-to-date for seamless integration into the platform.
Data science team worked tirelessly to aggregate this massive amount of data, processing it to embed essential information directly into a 3D interactive map. This approach enabled users to visually explore the area and property features, offering rich data with few click away
By analyzing factors such as proximity to schools, noise levels, air polution, view quality, and nearby amenities, we devised an intuitive scoring system. This gave users a clear, comprehensive understanding of each property’s strengths and potential drawbacks, making the decision-making process simpler and more informed.
Lastly, our design team focused on crafting a clean, user-friendly interface that balanced simplicity with powerful features. The result was an elegant, intuitive platform that not only made navigating through property data easy but also earned us the prestigious "Best of Swiss Web" award, validating all our hard work.
